'Midnight Shadows' (Collie Terrell, R. 1961). Seedling# 57-117. TB, 39" (99 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Color Class-V1D, Dark purple self, from blue side. ('Northwestern' x 'Storm Warning') X 'Black Hills'. Tell 1962. Honorable Mention 1964.

From Tell’s Gardens catalog, 1962: MIDNIGHT SHADOWS (Collie Terrell) Midseason Late 40". (Northwestern x Storm Warning) X (Black Hills) This was blackest of all the darks being grown in the Terrell garden last spring and it also had the finest branching. No haft markings and a self beard make it outstanding among "blacks" This should be excellent crossed with Black Charm, Dark Fury, and Little Crow. #57-117. $25.00
