'Mexicana' (John Salter, pre-1859). Late midseason bloom. Color Class Y9D. Although originally registered as an IB, Mexicana is considered a TB. See IB 'Mexicana'. Synonym: Mexicaine.

From Wing Seed catalog, 1919: MEXICAINE — (Var.) S. very clear pure yellow; F. brownish-red, very distinctly striped on white, narrow yellow border with wire edge of red. Eighteen inches. 15c.
