From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1948: MELANIE (Hillson 1941) M. A tall orchid pink with greater depth of color than most in this class. The large flowers have good substance. The stalks are well branched. H. M., A. I. S. 1941. Per R. 88 1943. 45 in. $1.25
From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1948: MELANIE (Hill) An excellent orchid-pink. It shows up splendidly in the garden and receives deserved attention. The flowers are large, substance firm, and stalks wei! branched. 3 feet plus. $1.25; 3 for $3.25.
