'Matador' (Chet Tompkins, R. 1949). Seedling# 46-39. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-R4D. Red blend, cinnamon fragrance. ('Intermezzo' x 'Cedar Rose') X 'Gypsy Rose'.

From Fleur De Lis Gardens 1956. MATADOR (Tompkins 1949) M. L. 36 in. (Intermezzo x Cedar Rose) x Gypsy Rose. A very large blend of bright red, burnt orange and copper pink. The overall effect is of brilliant flame red. $1.00.
