1987, Gibson

'Make My Day' (James Gibson, R. 1985). Seedling# 87-9C. TB, 37" (94 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards greyed orange (RHS 170A) with red purple glow; falls red with copper glow, 1/8" orange edge; orange beard; lightly laced. 'Forever April' X seedling# 12-7P: (seedling# 75-4A x 'Beyond'). Cooley's Gardens 1987.

From Cooley's Gardens 1987]: Pointed out for introduction for some time now, it is indeed a showoff and attracts attention across the garden. The standards are greyed orange having a red purple glow. They are very ruffled and closely held. Semi flaring falls are red with a copper blend, a 1/8" orange rim showing some lace. Eight buds producing 6" flowers of excellent texture. Vigorous grower.
