From AIS Bulletin #249, April 1983 Introducing MABEL ANDREWS-Gorgeous rose-pink of wide form; lovelier than Vanity. Superb pollen parent! Non-remontant here. (Fond Wish X Jean Guymer). $35.00. Avonbank Iris Gardens. |
From Avonbank Gardens catalog for 1984: "My wife's favorite iris in the entire garden, and it is named for her mother. It is a scrumptious deep pink with hints of blue. I still believe that it will come taller, in a normal year. Blooms are wide and clean and the branching adequate. This fall it sent up two stalks, so it is at least an occsional remontant and in warmer climates may be reliable." |
