From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1964: LOVELY LIGHT (Tompkins 1964) M.VL. 36 in. 58-2B:-Apricot sib.to Herald Angel and High Note. x (( 57-82 (Orange cot sib to Marie Fischer) x (Top Flight x Mary Randall)). A new, extremely rich orange that has been very much admired and coveted here the past 3 seasons. Our Picture of it- inside cover- shows a freshly opened flower. As the flower reaches full maturity it flares more and the ruffling and fluting becomes more distinct as does a tiny white blaze which accents its bright tangerine red beard. It has very heavy substance and a sleek, glistening finish. Ultra clean and clear, it has no other colors or veining to dull or darken its rich coloring. A fine grower with good strong, well-branched stalks.No. 61-73. Net 25.00 |
