From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: LOUIS BEL (Louie-Bell) (Denis 1925) E. 30". This is probably M. Denis’ masterpiece. It is a seedling of M. Gaudichau. Plant of great vigor, good habits and fine foliage. Flowers of good size. S. very, very dark velvety pansy violet; F. a splendid blackish velvety purple. C.M. Paris Exhibition 1925. $1.75. |
