From Sam Carpenter Garden catalog, 1925: LORD LAMBOURNE (1924), A magnificent variety and one destined to become one of the world's favorites. Perfect habit, branching stems over 3½ feet high bearing a profusion of large well-shaped flowers; the colour combination is a pleasing one, a delightful shade of rose-fawn suffused with pale bronze. F. rich madder-crimson with a white reticulated base, illuminated with a bright yellow beard. $25.00.
From Quality Gardens catalog 1930: LORD LAMBOURNE (Perry 1923) E. 42" S. F. A magnificent iris with large, well shaped flowers produced freely on tall, branching stems. S. a delightful shade of rose fawn, suffused with pale bronze; F. rich madder-crimson, reticulated white at the base and illuminated with a bright yellow beard. $.75.
