From Kenwood Iris Gardens catalog 1933: KENWOOD (Ayers-Emig. 1932)— 36". A blended variegata of beautifully smooth texture. S. buff yellow with a blending of pale salmon pink; F. rich velvety amaranth purple with narrow buff margin. A Cardinal seedling with flowers of similar size and texture. The blooms are beautifully formed; they appear as though they had been chiseled out of ivory. $7.50.
From Maple Valley Iris Garden catalog, 1937: KENWOOD (Ayres 1932) M. 38 in. A brightly colored variegata blend with stands of golden buff shaded lilac, and velvety falls of amaranth purple edged golden buff. 50c.
