'Jolly Sprite' (Ron Beattie, R. 1962). Seedling 57-60. TB, 34" (86 cm), Early midseason bloom. Color Class-V1, Orchid self, between phlox and caprice violet; rose beard. (('Salmon Shell' x Muhiestein seedling# 49-21) x 'Apricot Supreme') X 'Mary Randall'. Fleur de Lis 1962.

From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: JOLLY SPRITE (Beattie '62) E.M. 34 in. (Salmon Shell x Tell. 49-31) x Apricot Supreme)) x M. Randall. A bright orchid self with a rich rose red beard. All petals are so broad and heavily ruffled that the flower appears to be one of the huge Mohr hybrids. 15.00.
