From AIS Bulletin #169, April 1963. Introducing IVORY GOWN (E. Smith 63) 61-94 (Idaho Gold X Celestial Snow) 40 in. Lovely ivory cream, almost white. Buds are a rich cream. Both standards and falls very waved and frilled. Heavy texture, semi-flaring and good branching. $25.00. Smith's Iris Garden. |
IVORY GOWN (Eva Smith) - The least known variety listed, and I'm about the only grower I know of who still grows it! This ruffled ivory-cream has nice form and more consistently throws show stalks than any other variety I grow. However, it's late-late, and this is the reason it wasn't more popular.
