From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: HONOR BRIGHT (Deforest 1951) M. L. 38 in. (Tiffanja x Firecracker). A real sensation the past two years, this well deserves the notice it has received. The flowers are large with very broad petals. Ground color is rich chrome yellow with a deeper gold stitching around the edge that is flushed orange and the center of the fall has a large oval flush of rich ivory. H. M. 1951. 2.00 . |
"Honor Bright is also a yellow plicata, but quite different in form—a sharply flaring version of Tiffanja, brighter in color." John Dolman, Jr. (Pennsylvania), “From Aldan to Walden and Points North, DeForest Plicatas Outstanding,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 123, (October 1951): 16. |
