1988, Schreiner

'Honky Tonk Blues' (Schreiners, R. 1988). Seedling T 280-1. TB, 37" (94 cm). Midseason bloom. Ruffled hyacinth blue (HCC 40), white grey streaking and edge on falls; hyacinth blue (40/1) beard. Seedling J 59-A: ('Admiral Blue' x 'Sailor's Dance') X seedling L 100-A: ((seedling G 1517-B x 'Neptune's Pool') x seedling G 119-H, 'Royal Regency' sibling). Schreiner 1988. Honorable Mention 1990; Walther Cup 1990; Award of Merit 1992; Wister Medal 1994; American Dykes Medal 1995.

  • TB 'Honky Tonk Blues' was blooming at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately June 4-13, in 2017. It has Purple Based Foliage at the base of its leaves at least during and after flowering, as well as some purple coloring on its spathes. -- HollyJohnson2017 -04-01 - 01 Sep 2017
