From Salbach catalog, 1925: HIDALGO. The largest iris we have introduced, a lavender self of unusually broad shape, tall and upstanding and certainly desirable in California. Stock limited. 35.00.
From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: HIDALGO (Mohr 1925). A very large, lavender self of unusually broad shape; tall and upstanding. $3.50 each.

Frolm Carl Salbach catalog 1936: Hidalgo. A very large lavender blue of unusually broad shape. The stalks carry so many blooms open at one time that it is comparable to a spike of gladiolus. Particularly fine for floral decorations, as under electric light it becomes as pink as Frieda Mohr. Mid-season to late. 48-inch. 35c; 3 for 75c.
