1974, Hamblen

'Gypsy Prince' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1973). Seedling H68-34C. TB, 38" (97 cm). Early to late bloom. Standards greyed yellow with violet infusion deeper at base (RHS 162B); falls near violet (87A) lighter toward edge, bordered medium brown (165B) with hafts same; orange beard tipped violet. 'Cambodia' X 'Touché' sibling. Mission Bell 1974. Honorable Mention 1975.

From AIS Bulletin #212 January 1974 Introducing GYPSY PRINCE 38", M-L. Exciting bicolor with strong beautifully branched stalks which carry abundant bloom in perfect placement. Stands antique gold infused with violet which deepens at the petal base. Falls violet with medium brown haft and border. Ruffled. Cupped stands, arched,semi-flaring falls. Cambodia X Touche sib. No. H68-34C. HC '73. $25.00. Mission Bell.
