From AIS Bulletin #202 July 1971 Introducing GREENAN CASTLE (Beattie '71). HC '67. No. 65-36. $20.00. A luminous pink-apricot with self beard. Heavily, all over, gold dusted. Adequately branched and an excellent grower. Tested from Canada to New York to Kansas and in California, with rave reports. Ronald Beattie |
Ronald Beattie's GREENAN CASTLE is unique among the apricot-orange toned irises because of a pink undertone. Quite unlike anything we've had so far. The color is bright; the plant is strong. [Jones, Bennett C. (1972). Oregon in ’72, American Iris Society Bulletin 204(January 1972), 19.] |
