ORIGINAL CATALOG DESCRIPTION: GOLDEN YEARS (Hall, 1961) Each $20.00….When Golden Garland appeared in 1953, Dave Hall seized upon it at once as a forerunner of "things to come" in combinations of lacy white fringed with gold. In the past few years a vast number of the offspring from this great Iris have come into flower amongst his seedlings. The one selected as most outstanding was given the name of "Golden Years" in fond recognition of the era into which Mr. Hall's long association with Iris is now fitted. The depth of rich golden yellow in the standards and on the fringed falls is not ample in our illustration nor is the clean, sharp contrast of color adequate. So many have seen and heard about this Iris that we already have many standing orders for it. 35 inches. No. 57-50. Cooley's Iris, 1961. |
