From AIS Bulletin #181 April 1966. Introducing GOLDEN SNOW. Sdlg. #1862B (SUNSWEPT x PATRICIAN). Large, waved, sparkling white with a band of gold on the broad hafts. Matching gold beard. Very clean, gracefully formed flower with good substance. The gold color is so bright that the flower stands out like a beacon in the garden. Fertile both ways. 36 inches Late midseason H.C. 1963. Net $25.00. Dorothy Palmer. |
GOLDEN SNOW I have seen in several gardens at conventions, and is one I would like to grow. One would need to be a little careful of placement of this variety in our gardens. A little protection will keep up the beauty of the variety longer. [Larry Harder, “My White Want List,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society_, No. 188 (January 1968): 26.] |
