GOLDEN RULE (H. F. Hall 1950) M. L. Distinctive among the new orange and yellow iris this rather late flowering variety merits the attention of all iris enthusiasts that are looking for a near perfect yellow. The standards are broad and very firmly domed. The falls are flaring, broad and increasing in rounded form at the tips. Beard and styles same color as the rest of the flower. A deep aureolin self (R.H.C.) with a remarkably smooth finish, devoid of any venations and with a velvety flush on the falls. Well branched. 40 in. $4.00. Fairmount catalog, 1955.
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: GOLDEN RULE (H. F. Hall 1950) M. L. 38 in. (Spun Gold x Berkeley Gold). Deepest pure yellow of large size and beautiful flaring form. The flowers are heavily substanced and the finish is very velvety and free from markings of any kind. 3.00.
