1990, Brown

'Golden Frolic' (Opal Brown, R. 1990). Seedling# 82-18A. TB, 28-30" (71-76 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards canary yellow (RHS 9B); falls white, canary yellow hafts and edge; beards orange, wide; frilled, laced. 'Cascade Morn' X seedling# 78-3B5: ('Old Flame' x (('Grandiflora' x 'Arctic Flame') x 'Buffy')). Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens 1990.

From AIS Bulletin #277 April 1990 Introducing GOLDEN FROLIC (0. Brown '90) TB, 28", M. This could also be classified as a 'small tall' . Cupped standards of bright canary yellow and flaring white falls, edged gold. Wide, thick, deep orange beards. All petals and styles are heavily laced. Waxlike substance permits long bloom, 7 to 8 well spaced buds. Sdlg. 82-18A, inv. Arctic Flame, Old Flame, Grandiflora, Buffy, Baroque, Saber Dance and Silver Showers. $20.00. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens.
