From Tell’s Iris Garden catalog, 1958: GLORIETA (George H. Murray, Covina, Calif.). Midseason. 42 inches. (Jasper Agate x Nightingale) x (Apricot Glory x Melody Lane). The tallest of the apricots. A very smooth clean self of rich apricot with red undertones. The standards are closed, falls flare and are broad with good substance. Fine branching. Cointroduced with Mr. Murray. $25.00 |
From AIS Bulletin #149, April 1958. Introducing GLORIETA--(Jasper Agate x Nightingale} X (Apricot Glory x Melody Lane). A very large red-toned apricot self. Firmly closed standards; flaring falls with tangerine beard. Smooth broad petals. Clean-not a mark of any description on it. Height 42" with good branching. This is not an orange or yellow apricot; it has red infusion in its makeup. NET $25.00. George Murray. |
