From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: GLORIAE (Glo'-ree-eye) (Cayeux 1924) M. 40". Flower of large size. It is practically a bright blue self, with the falls a shade deeper than the standards. This has a wonderful garden effect, probably better than any other light blue. A very choice variety. This is one of the principle varieties used by M. Cayeux, who is now recognized as the world’s greatest hybridizer of Iris, in his work. He used it because of its size, style, height and hardy qualities. C. of M. S.N.H.F. $1.75. |
