1985, Osborne

'Gladys Austin' (Manley Osborne, R. 1985). Seedling# 1-1-4. TB, 37" (94 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards fluted golden yellow (RHS 162B); falls deep orchid violet (84A), sharp brown (166C) rim on edge; yellow orange beard at base, turning into fuzzy violet (84A) horn; slight musky fragrance. 'Battle Star' X 'Brown Lasso'. Melrose Gardens 1985. High Commendation 1982; Honorable Mention 1987; Favorite Guest 1987. Novelty Iris.
