| GLAD TIDINGS (Whiting '47). M. (Amitola x Copper Piece) x (Amaranth). Rich wax-yellow. Wide! Superb parent. Net $3.00. [Tell's Iris Gardens 1951]. |
| From Cooley's Gardens, 1949: GLAD TIDINGS (Whiting, 1947) One of the most interesting of the new Irises - a unique wax-yellow, very closely branched so that it somewhat resembles a huge Gladiolus spike. Individual flowers are very large and ruffled, the substance amazingly heavy. Lower blossoms are the first to open, 34 inches. |
