From AIS Bulletin #181 April 1966. Introducing GENTLE PRESENCE (Frances Brown '66), 36", MELODRAMA X TAHOLAH X MELODRAMA. A very large flaring flower, with heavy substance. The standards are broad and domed and are soft amber-buff color. The falls are deep violet, broad with silken sheen. The beard is yellow. Fast to increase. The judges thought I should have introduced this Iris in 1965 but I felt I would rather see it growing another year. This Iris has been guested in several gardens and has performed well in each of them. H.C. in 1964. Net $25.00. No. 60-212. Landsend Gardens.
