'Gay Pal' (Gordon Plough, R. 1958). Seedling# 53-138-50. TB, 40" (102 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Color Class-W2, Standards white faintly edged lemon; alls. white, lemon-yellow hafts; deep tangerine beard. 'Gay Paree', X 'Palomino'. Eden Road 1959. Honorable Mention 1960.

From AIS Bulletin #153, April 1959: Introducing GAY PAL-EM. 40 in. (Gay Paree X Palomino). Pure white flower with edges of standards faintly edged lemon. The clean hafts are intense lemon. Beard is bright tangerine. Medium sized flowers are semi-flaring and perky. Cointroduced with Iris Test Gardens $15.00 net.
From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1964: GAY PAL (Plough '59) + EM-38". Reported from the State of Wash. only 100 miles from the Canadian Border, to be one of most consistent summer & fall bloomers. A fetching color combination--standards pure white; falls creamy white, very flaring, with yellowish hafts & brilliant wide tangerine beard. A heavy bloomer, adding gaiety to the garden for a long period in the spring; then again later in the year. HM'60. Gay Paree X Palomino. Regularly $4.50; on $10 order $2.70; on $25 order $1.80.
