'Gay Head' (Harold Knowlton, R. 1952). Seedling# 47-68D. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-Y4. Variegata. Standards clear bright yellow and nicely ruffled; falls deep maroon with a solid border of yellow extending to center of flower. Purple base foliage. 'Mary Vernon' x 'Wabash'. Fairmount 1954. High Commendation 1952 under seedling #47-68D. High Commendation 1953; Honorable Mention 1954.
