From AIS Bulletin #149, April 1958. Introducing GAVOTTE (Beattie '58) (Tell 44-67 X Frances Kent) $20.00. I find myself "hard-put" for words to describe this distinct and different iris. Its domed standards are of soft lemon flushed pink, intensified at the ribs. The falls are lemon apricot with a smooth blending of amber at the haft. An orange beard highlights the center of the flower. One of my personal favorites and a fine parent. Old Colony Gardens. |
Fromn Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: GAVOTTE (Beattie '58) M. 38 in. (Tells 44-67 x Frances Kent). A new beauty with a different color range. Standards are soft lemon with a smooth flush of pink that deepens over the midribs and the falls are bright lemon apricot with a smooth touch of amber around a full orange red beard. One you will like . H.M. 1958. 7.50. |
