'Gallant Knight' (Chet Tompkins, R. 1953) TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason to very late bloom. Bitone. Tones of dark brown-red, or mahogany. 'Prairie Fire' X 'Garden Glory'. Fleur de Lis 1953.

From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: GALLANT KNIGHT (Tompkins 1953) M. VL. 38 in. (Prairie Fire x Garden Glory). A deep mahogany blend with medium to large flowers of beautiful form with heavy substance and velvety, ruffled petals. Standards are glowing red brown with a smoky undertone and the falls are of rich chocolate red or mahogany. The flowers are beautifully placed on tall, strong, very well branched stalks. H. C. 1951. 5.00.
