"From Maxwell comes this sister seedling of 'White Glory'. Too short a stalk this year, but blossom lovely. It is slightly ruffled and has a tint of lavender." [Unknown author, Varietal Comment. AIS Bulletin #101 (April 1946): 72]
From Marble Iris Gardens catalog, 1957: FROSTY MOON (Maxwell 1944). M. 38 in. A beautiful distinctive white Iris that is very lightly tinted with lavender; a golden beard and haft. The domed standards are ruffled, and the falls crimped with ruffled edges. The flowers are of good substance and are well spaced on the tall stalks. Each $1.00; 3 for $2.50
