From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1956: FOLK SONG (Tompkins 1956) M L. 38 in. Apricot Supreme x Muhlestein 49-21-50: (47-72A: Gold Ruffles x 45-64-1 A: Alice Harding x Loomis "Type Dore"-A Sea Shell Sdlg.) x (Pink Formal). A large flower of very deep, rich pink with an almost completely hidden undertone of very pale apricot that seems to heighten the pink coloring; this is so different that it stood out very commandingly in a large bed of pink selections. Very large, with extremely broad petals and fine form, it has a silken finish and heavy substance. A fiery red beard still further heightens its color and a long season of bloom is another factor that is most welcome. A child of Apricot Supreme, it inherits its parents tall, strong and excellently branched stalks. No. 53-187. H. C. 1955. 20.00 |
