Standards metallic slate-purple base blending upward to bronze tan; edges slate grey; style arms brassy gold, crests veined plum purple; falls brassy gold richly overlaid dark claret at hafts and rouged spot extending ¾ of the way outward, fine network of white veins over hafts, circular blue violet flash at end of bright orange beards, brassy gold reverse; ruffled, lightly laced, metallic finish; slight spicy fragrance.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2008: FLY YOUR COLORS (Black 08) TB Midseason-Late 36” (91cm). If you've got a blue-blood pedigree, then Fly Your Colors high and proud. That is just what this colorful creation does. Bases of heavily ruffled standards are metallic slate blue purple blending upward to bronze-tan and edged slate gray. Styles and fall reverses are brassy gold. Style crests are veined plum-purple. Heavily ruffled brassy gold falls are richly overlaid with dark slate claret hafts and rouged spot extending ¾ of the way outward. Bright orange beards nest in a cluster of white veins on each side and have a circular violet flash at their tips. Vigorous growth. Two well spaced branches and terminal produce 7-8 buds.
