From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1965: FLOUNCED FANTASIA (Austin '65) ML-36". This Iris is sheer fantasy! Flounces not only double, but deliciously frilled and exotically colored from light purple at base to palest lavender at fringed tips. Then, like a shadow, a wide, dark russet line runs from base of flounce to tip of fall! Standards pale lavender-white, wide and fluted; falls white edged, with trace of blue stitching and peppering on the haft to strong accent marks in maroon purple. This will make a stunning addition to any garden! Has some pollen. Slight fruity fragrance. Spooned Fantom X (Plumed Delight x Horned Rosyred). Sdlg. # 225. Regularly $25.00; on $35 order $17.50. |
