From Indian Spring Farms catalog,k 1927: FLAMMENSCHWERT (Goos &. Koenemann 1920). "Flaming Sword. S. bright yellow; F. velvety brown, with a yellow border. A vigorous and free flowering variety similar to Marsh Marigold, Inca and Maori King. 30 inches. $1.00 each; $2.50 for 3.
From Bonnewitz catalog, 1926: FLAMMENSCHWERT (Goos & Koenemann) $2.50. S. empire yellow; F. velvety brown with yellow border. This variety came from the same hybridizer as Iris King, and is very much like that famous old variety, but it has not yet displaced it. Some experts think it has better size and clearer color tone.
