From Cayeux et LeClerc catalog for 1930, p. 8: "Flowers of the largest size borne on very strong stems 3 feet tall and of a special quite unusual colours. S. light rosy-lilac. F. purplish-rose with lighter shading at margin making a most attractive contrast. A strong vigorous well branched variety."
 
From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: FARANDOLE (Far-on-dol') (Cayeux 1928) M. 36". Flowers of enormous size borne on very strong, robust stems. An absolutely unique color, nothing like it in any other Iris. S. French gray with strong suffusion of rosy lilac in the center. F. purplish rose with a very broad margin of French gray. A strong, vigorous, well branched variety with an exquisite combination of color. We strongly recommend this to our customers. C.M.S.N.H.F. 1928. $10.0.
