'Fanfare Orchid' ( Bennett Jones, R. 1965). Seedling# 655-1. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-V4VB, Standards orchid; falls orchid-blue. Seedling# 548 (involving 'Gold Ruffles', 'Lipstick', Hall seedlings) X seedling# 494 (involving Tell seedling# 49-11C, 'Cloudcap', Hall seedlings). Jones 1966. Honorable Mention 1968.

From AIS Bulletin #181 April 1966. Introducing FANFARE ORCHID-Sdlg. #655-1 (#548 involving GOLD RUFFLES, LIPSTICK anJ Hall seedling) x (#494 involving Tell's 49-11C, CLOUD CAP and Hall seedling). Domed and closed standards are orchid. Wide ruffled falls are orchid-blue, bright red beard. Flower changes to blue after second day. This is giving some very blue seedlings and some reverse orchid bi-colors. 35". H.C. 1965 $25.00. Bennett Jones.
