From G. G. Whitelegg catalog, 1921: EUGENE BONVALLET (Cayeux & Le Clerc). A very fine large flowered variety of great merit. (S) clear violet-blue, (F) deep reddish indigo violet.
; Turbat 1930; Vilmorin 1938;AAA 135
From Bonnewitz catalog, 1924: EUGENE BONVALLET (Cayeux) $1.00. I have considerable stock of this variety and so it can be sold at a much lower price than the varieties which are still very scarce. It is not as good as Opera.
