| From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1948: ESQUIRE (Lothrop 1945) M. L. Tall and commanding, this deep blue purple iris is as dark as Brunhilde (one of its parents) but with better form and taller. The flowers are crisp and firm with a smooth sheen over all that adds to its beauty. Large blooms on 4 way branching stalk. HM, AIS 1947. 45 in. $15.00. |
