From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1934: Equipoise (Wmsn. 518, 1934). (307 X Dominion Seedlings). A tall graceful yellow and violet blend. Fine for the garden as it has excellent carrying quality for such a light blend. S. arching cupped, obcordate, pale Baryta Yellow shading to Pinard Yellow at base. F. straight hanging, rounded wedge-shaped, Hortense Violet, narrow margin of Baryta Yellow. Haft, White veined Pinard Yellow shading to Madder Brown near beard. Style Branches, Baryta Yellow, along midrib Pale Hortense Violet. Beard, Light Cadmium. Excellently branched sturdy stem 43 inches tall with seven flowers to a stalk. Flowers: 3 inches wide and 5 inches high. Very vigorous. $5.00. |
