1963, Blocher

'Ellen Manor' (Clarence Blocher, R. 1962). Seedling B59-10. TB, 36" (91 cm), Early midsseason bloom. Color Class-B1L, Light blue self, clean hafts. (Fay: seedling 53-76 x 'Butterfly Blue') X ( 'Celestial Blue' x 'Butterfly Blue'). Blocher, Moldovan 1963. Honorable Mention 1964.

The Blocher name, as with the Hinkle name, is now synonymous with fine blue irises. ELLEN MANOR (Blocher '63) was last year's surprise. With its blooming in '64, we became one of its biggest boosters. It is a delightful blue with plenty of turquoise in its makeup.
