From AIS Bulletin #262 July 1986 Introducing ELLAMAE FEHRER $30.00. (Glenn F. Corlew 1986). Tall, show branched stalks carry the large ruffled blossoms with a stately elegance. The color is a smooth blue-violet, ever so slightly lighter around the prominent bright red beard bearing a touch of white at the tip. This one has been an attention grabber in the early and mid-season ever since the maiden bloom. We hope you will find it a fitting tribute to Mrs. Fehrer. Seedling #1119-2A. 36". Early to Midseason. (Space Blazer X Actress). Cherry Lane Gardens.
