From Carl Salbach catalog, 1933: ELEANOR BLUE (Salbach 1933). Named after the shade chosen by President Roosevelt's wife. The same delicate coloring and smooth finish of Hoogiana in a large flower of Santa Barbara form and size. Entirely distinct. Coloring by Ridgway-standards campanula blue, with the same base color in falls, but heavily overlaid with a flush of the deeper chicory blue. Soft brown haft, and a prominent yellow beard. Height 36". Stock limited. $7.50 each. |
