From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: EBONY PRINCE (E. Smith '62) M.L. 40 in. (Truly Violet x Sable Night). A large, ruffled flower of rich violet black. Velvety flaring falls and silky standards. Very clean hafts and dark brown beard. Tall, very well branched stalks. Real showy.. 20.00.
