1939, Gersdorff 'Early Evening' (Charles Gersdorff, R. 1939) TB. Midseason bloom. Color Code-Y9L. 'Turco' x 'Andante'. Slight fragrance. An earlier seedling by Gersdorff was registered in 1937 with the same name but different parentage, 'Mme. Cheri' x Tenebrae. May never have been introduced into commerce before 1939. Obsolete—no longer in commerce. (Peckham, p. 203). See below:
