DYMIA (Shuber 1936) M. 38 ". A new name among hybridizers. Mr. Shuber, of Clinton, Iowa, who produced some delightful blues, with the old Blue Boy as one of the parents. Dymia (Dark Plum Blossom) is a very large, very dark purple self, almost black, with a dark blue beard which harmonizes beautifully with the falls and intensifies the coloring. An iris of great charm and garden value. $5.00. [1937 Quality Gardens catalog, Freeport, IL]. |
Dymia: (Shuber). Newly opened flowers grand clean color but dull with age soon after. [Belsley, Ray J., Varietal Comments. Bulletin of the American Iris Society 74 (July 1939), 17.] |
