From Wallace Iris Gardens catalog 1955: DEEP MAROON - (Muhlestein '52) M. (Rubeo x Garden Magic) x (Garden Glory). As smoothly finished as its parent Garden Glory, but a much deeper maroon color. Standards lighter than the falls. 30 inches, for the front of the border. NET $10.00.
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: DEEP MAROON (Muhl. 1952) E. M. 30 in. (Rubeo x .Garden Magic) X Garden Glory. A fine new bicolor red with gleaming orange red standards and very deep maroon red falls that have flaring form and a rich velvety finish. It is short but has good branching and the cleanly finished flowers have a lot of carrying power. Should be an excellent breeder. 6.00.
