From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1956: DEEP DEVOTION (Tompkins 1956) M. L. 38-40 in. (Cotton Candy x Apricot Supreme). For the past three years this has been a great favorite in our garden. Truly a stately Iris, it has tall, perfectly branched stalks with very large, exquisitely formed flowers. A self of clear orchid pink in which the orchid definitely predominates; it might best be termed a shade of light Bengal Rose. The flowers have very broad petals with accurately domed standards and perfectly held semiflaring falls. A light, carnation like crimping on the edges of the petals adds to its beauty, and though a delicate color, it is deceptively rich and compelling and is further enhanced by a clear orange red beard. No. 53-161H. C. 1954. 25.00 |
