1969, Schliefert

'Dark Ages' (Arnold Schliefert, R. 1968). Seedling 61-31M. TB, 32" (81 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-R1DD, Very dark red self. 'Edenite' X 'Black Swan'. Schliefert 1969.

From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 DARK AGES (Schliefert '69). A very dark red self. Seeing it from a distance, the falls resemble near black velvet. A good performer. HC '68. $10.00. Schliefert Iris Gardens.
