From the Iris City catalog, 1940: The best of the low-priced dark blue-purples. A tremendous blue-purple self with wide full petals, semi-flaring [falls and stout, very tall stalks, standing in a forest of broad bladed foliage. Every stalk shows perfect branching. 44 in. Honorable Mention 1936. 35ยข.
